07:30 Meet your guide and driver at your hotel in Da Nang and depart for My Son Sanctuary, travelling through the scenic countryside of Central Vietnam. Nestled in a peaceful valley surrounded by forested mountains, My Son was once the religious and political centre of the Champa Kingdom and was dedicated primarily to the worship of Hindu deities. Explore the ancient temple complex and discover how its distinctive brick architecture developed over more than ten centuries, with inscriptions and architectural remains offering valuable insights into the spiritual and political life of the Champa civilisation. Learn about the sanctuary’s history, from its early wooden structures and later reconstruction in locally made bricks to the development of more than 70 temples by the 13th century. In 1999, UNESCO recognised My Son as a World Heritage Site, acknowledging its exceptional testimony to the cultural and architectural achievements of the Champa civilisation in Southeast Asia. After exploring the sanctuary and surrounding valley, return to Da Nang and conclude the tour at approximately 12:30 - 13:00.
